When last have you visited a workshop? … If you have, you will notice that all once damaged or broken items, which were handled, now carry a label marked “REPAIRED”. In late September, 2007, a brief conversation between Jackie and a talented young man - Hoszia Hinds took place in the form of Jackie asking Hoszia to come and help him out at his upcoming concert. These two persons were once members of the Power In The Blood Chorale, and the response was in the affirmative. Jackie is a MINISTER OF THE APOSTOLIC WAY MINISTRIES, and Hoszia is a member of Evening Light Pentecostal Church.
What was supposed to be just one night of ministry evolved into sessions where initially, fifteen (15) --voices from various churches were invited to join in the ministry. The group is made up of members from the Pentecostal House of Prayer in Six Men’s, Connell Town, Farm Road, and French Village; Power in the Blood Assembly; United Holiness Church of Faith in Christ council- Boscobelle and Maynards, and Evening Light Pentecostal Church. WE ALSO HAVE NEW MEMBERS FROM CHURCH OF GOD OF PROPHECY PILGRIM ROAD, CH CH, CRAB HILL AND FUSTIC WESLEYAN HOLINESS CHURCH.
In preparing for the concert, the Holy Spirit spoke to Jackie the word ‘repaired’. She thought that it meant that the ministry was leading specially to people who were torn, tormented, worn out and weary with life, who needed their fragmented souls to be healed, hence the song “Jesus Said Come To The Water”. The word that God spoke became the name of the group after being asked what the name of the group was constantly. All this happened even before ministry went into the atmosphere. Before the group even ever sang at Hoszia’s concert, they were invited to sing at other events.
Under the leadership of Mrs. Jackie Cumberbatch, Repaired shares a common vision of “winning the lost at any cost”, as they minister in testimony and song while being led by the Holy Spirit. Arising out of this, the group is guided by the watchword ‘Flow’. The foundation of the group is based on the Malachi chapter 1 where they are constantly reminded to bring unpolluted worship to God.
With this, fortification is indeed the essence of preparation for ministry, where they are reminded to keep their lives fortified in the Word of God, applying it as an ointment to the weakest situation of their lives, so that God would get worship in song that is pure and unpolluted. The young persons wear ‘robe-like’ attire in the form of African clothes, with the young ladies eventually wrapping their heads not as a form of godliness or tradition, but the complete the attire of headwear.
THESE AFRICAN CLOTHES DO NOT REPRESENT ANY PARTICIPATION IN ANY CULT, SECRET SOCIETY OR ANY UNDERHANDED OR DOUBLEMINDED UNGODLY ACTS, WE REMAIN COVERED UNDER THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH AND THE UNIFORM IS A BEAUTIFUL PART OF GOD'S CREATION.
In preparation for ministry the members are required to fast and pray for at least half of a day for seven (7) days leading up to any event, whilst reading Isaiah chapter 58. GOD HAS A PATTERN FOR EVERTHING and with repaired, fortification keeps the group focused as they are aware that doing intercession in song digs souls out of hell, through strong voices in worship, because God is a repairer of the breach............. We know that it has all been God’s design........ We are……. - REPAIRED!
Five months later we have been awarded by the FLAME GOSPEL AWARDS as the NEW ARTISTE FOR THE YEAR 2007. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
